The Best Microsoft Surface Laptop Learnonlinee

Microsoft’s new Surface Laptop is a first for the Windows maker: a conventional laptop that runs a stripped-down but more battery-efficient operating system called Windows 10 S. The company is aiming the $999 Surface Laptop at the educational set, but it’s bound to go toe-to-toe with Apple’s entry-level MacBook Air as well

It is also wonderfully portable. It still needs to go in my bag, but it is light enough to be barely noticeable while providing a full-sized screen and keyboard when I need it. Battery life is pretty solid, offering enough for a day’s worth of office work and still having around 15-20 percent battery charge left at the end of the day.

The touchscreen continues to be an area that Microsoft pushes technology hard, to reduce both the latency of the input from the Surface Pen but also bring the tip of the pen as close as possible to the elements on the screen. That said the majority of the time I was using my fat fingers on the screen - with no storage space for the Surface Pen in the Surface Laptop you need to carry it separately. It’s easy enough on an office desk but if I’m dropping the Laptop in my bag in a rush remembering the Surface Pen is rarely high on my list. While Microsoft has been criticised for to going for two USB-C ports, given the target market for the Surface Laptop is a mix of educational markets and large-scale enterprise rollouts, retaining backward compatibility with existing peripherals justifies the older USB port. As for proprietary blade style charging port, it offers compatibility with the rest of the Surface range, presumably for the integrated hardware experience in a large organization.Windows Central points out that the cheaper Surface Laptop model now competes directly with Microsoft’s base Surface Pro model, which also includes Intel’s Core m3 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. Microsoft still sells the essential Surface Type Cover separately, so you do need to factor in an additional $129.99 to get a comparable device.
